Map Data Storage and Distribution Services

This Branch manages over one million aerial and remote sensing image records collected since 1973. These encompass scanned analog aerial photographs, digital aerial imagery captured with DMC and DMC III cameras, unmanned aerial vehicle images, ADS40 digital aerial images, and orthophoto files. Additionally, this Branch is authorized to distribute various levels of imagery from FORMOSAT-2 and FORMOSAT-5, providing comprehensive geospatial data services.
To enhance spatial data management and delivery, an aerial survey and remote sensing data storage system known as the ATIS was established as the core platform for data provision. It manages and preserves historical digital aerial imagery, offering a rich repository of information on Taiwan’s national land and its changes over time. This collection is regarded as one of Taiwan’s most valuable data assets. To support government agencies and state-owned enterprises, a Web Map Service (WMS) was developed, serving as a foundational layer for national infrastructure and public development planning.
To improve public access to spatial data, the Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Data Service Platform was launched. Through this platform, users can locate, search, overlay, and view available imagery, as well as purchase image products produced or distributed by this Branch. This service allows users to view and explore original aerial photographs online, facilitating a win–win outcome for both the government and the public.
