Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Branch

Taiwan Aerial Imagery and Landscape Change
Since 1973, this Branch has conducted forest resource surveys and produced basic aerial photographic maps of Taiwan. Over the decades, it has accumulated more than one million aerial images, documenting over half a century of national land development and transformation. To enable public access and benefit from these valuable resources, original aerial photographs from various years, orthorectified images, and FORMOSAT satellite imagery provided by the Taiwan Space Agency have been made available through the Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Data Service Platform. This platform offers online location-based browsing, searching, and purchasing services. Looking ahead, we remain committed to our core mission: advancing aerial survey technology and strengthening geospatial information for national land. This effort supports ecological monitoring and serves as a cornerstone for sustainable development.
Policies
Guided by sustainable forest management principles, we promote responsible use of forest resources while prioritizing ecological conservation to foster harmony between people and nature.
